Lammerskraal hosted a small but select group of breeders on Tuesday to view some of their foals as well as their top class resident stallions Go Deputy and Visionaire.

Go Deputy, whose Triple Crown winning champion Abashiri is set to be aimed at this season’s G1 L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate and G1 Met, looked more than ready for the breeding season as he strutted his stuff before the guests. A son of dual US champion sire Deputy Minister (whose son French Deputy is broodmare sire of Visionaire), the 2006 G1 Sword Dancer Handicap hero had yearlings fetch up to R500 000 this year, and, standing for a fee of just R20 000, Go Deputy is without question one of the best value for money sires currently at stud in South Africa.
Former Leading First Crop Sire Visionaire made a great impression on the Cape breeders fortunate enough to see the handsome son of Grand Slam on Tuesday. The handsome chestnut looked absolute magnificent and Visionaire was the subject of a number of positive comments following the showing. A blistering racehorse, whose wins included the G1 King’s Bishop Stakes, Visionaire has G1 performers in both his first South African crops, with his current 3yos including such talented G1 performers as Africa Rising and Visuality.

Cheveley also vanned over their exciting young sire, and former G1 SA Derby winner Wylie Hall for the occasion, and that son of Redoute’s Choice looked in fine fettle for the big day! By the same sire as Australian sire sensation Snitzel, Wylie Hall’s first foals have made a good impression, with Lammerskraal showing off a particularly nice filly.
Lammerskraal have a truly exceptional crop of foals on the ground already, with their first arrivals including youngsters by the likes of Duke Of Marmalade, Soft Falling Rain, Wylie Hall, Gimmethegreenlight, and What A Winter.
