Lammerskraal has a top quality draft of seven juveniles on offer at next month’s CTS Ready To Run Sale Presented by Lanzerac Hotel & Spa.
The farm, who will also offer two other juveniles as agent, will be offering lots by such prominent sires as Gimmethegreenlight, Mambo In Seattle, Oratorio, and What A Winter, as well as their own very successful resident stallion Go Deputy.
First of the Lammerskraal consignment on offer is lot 18 –a daughter of current sire sensation, and last season’s Leading First Crop Sire, Gimmethegreenlight. This filly, a half sister to a winner, is out of a winning Western Winter half sister to G3 performer Split Decision and her second dam is none other than former G1 Gosforth Park TC Challenge winner Divided Loyalty.
Western Winter’s triple Equus Champion son What A Winter’s first yearlings proved very popular last season. The champion is the sire of lot 58 –a beautifully bred half brother to G1 Woolavington 2000 winner Viva Maria and a three parts brother to the G2 winning Western Winter filly Bichette, as well as to Western Winter’s record setting stakes placed daughter Blizzard Belle. His G3 winning dam is a Badger Land half sister to top sprinter Harrison.
Red hot sire Go Deputy, sire of Triple Crown winner Abashiri among others, is responsible for 70. This well bred gelding (a three parts brother to Go Deputy’s top class daughter Adobe Pink) is a half brother five winners, including recent winner and G3 performer Mr Roy, and his dam is a winning half sister to G1 winners Nania and Red Ray, with his second dam being Lammerskraal’s late, great mare Nacarat.
Go Deputy is also sire of lot 96 –a three parts sister to G3 winner Current Event and also closely related to Abashiri himself, and this filly’s three time winning dam is a sister in blood to Lammerskraal bred Horse Of The Year Yard-Arm.
The son of Deputy Minister’s final lot in this draft is 118 – a filly out of a four time winning Western Winter half sister to stakes winning 2yo Juan Two Three and to G1 filly Counter Ridge, and this filly is also from the same family as former star filly National Bay.
Lammerskraal’s late sire Parade Leader has two lots on offer –including a superbly bred own brother to Equus Champion Laverna (Lot89). This gelding is out of Equus Champion Enchantress –with the latter being a sister in blood to yet another former local champion in National Currency.
Kingmambo’s late son Parade Leader (also responsible for G1 stars Pierre Jourdan and Rudra) is also responsible for lot 90 –a half brother to five winners including the G1 classic performer Stebbins. His dam is a half sister to Horse Of The Year Yard-Arm as well as G3 winner Donya –the dam of none other than Triple Crown hero Abashiri.
Former G1 Travers Stakes runner up Mambo In Seattle (whose dam is a G1 placed own sister to legendary US sire A P Indy) has made a bright start to his stud career with his first crop including multiple G1 winner Same Jurisdiction and his second the stakes winners Mambo Mime and Mambonick. Lammerskraal will be offering a filly (as agent –lot 35) –who is a three parts sister to useful filly Beautiful Shay and whose second dam, Lypharita, won the G1 Prix de Diane (French Oaks). This outstanding family (Lypharita is a direct descendant of Arc winner Pearl Cap) is also responsible for King George hero Belmez.
Dual Italian Champion Sire Oratorio has already made a massive impression on South Africa with his first yearlings fetching up to R3.2 million last season. The champion son of Danehill is the sire of lot 107 –a colt (half brother to 3 winners), whose stakes placed dam is a half sister to none other world class sprinter and multiple Equus Champion J J The Jet Plane.
