The Lammerskraal Stud bred Premier Dance made an eye catching debut at Greyville on Sunday.
This regally bred filly won a good race over 1400m, when winning first out, by half a length, for trainer Dennis Drier and owner Mike Rattray.
Premier Dance is certainly bred to be good. Not only is Sunday’s debut winner a daughter of former champion sire Silvano (also sire of such G1 winning fillies as Silver Mountain, Field Flower, Flirtation and Happy Valentine), but she is the seventh winner for former Broodmare Of The Year Akinfeet.
A daughter of last season’s Champion Broodmare Sire Fort Wood, Akinfeet is best known as the dam of Equus Champion Miler and triple G1 winner Capetown Noir (by Western Winter). She also produced former G3 August Stakes winner and millionaire Across The Ice and five time winner and stakes performer Maxixe.
Capetown Noir, who stands at Summerhill Stud in KZN, has his first foals on the ground this year –and they are arriving to rave reviews!
Premier Dance was one of no fewer than three winners on the weekend for Lammerskraal, whose Bishop’s Bounty and Bulleting Home won their respective heats at Durbanville and Turffontein respectively.
Both sons of the farm’s late, great sire Western Winter, Bishop’s Bounty and Bulleting Home both look on track for a good season ahead!
