Lammerskraal’s red hot young sire Go Deputy could be represented by a pair of runners in the R2 000 000 Sansui Summer Cup on November 26th.
Go Deputy’s brilliant son Abashiri and his daughter Flying Ice both hold entries in the Gauteng G1 feature, which will be run over 2000m.
Last season’s SASCOC Triple Crown winner Abashiri is one of the best horses around, with the dual G1 winner having won six of just nine outings and banked over R3.44 million (and also picked up a R2 000 000 bonus for sweeping the Triple Crown).
His paternal half sister Flying Ice, now in the care of veteran trainer Ormond Ferraris, is a top class athlete in her own right –a stakes winner at two, Flying Ice (who has earned more than R600 000 in prize money) won the G2 Gold Bracelet on her final outing as a 3yo.
Second entries close on 31 October when the weights will be announced, with final entries on Monday 14 November. Final acceptances fall due on Tuesday 15 November and the final field will be announced on Wednesday 16 November.
