Brutal Force is back!

Brutal Force is back!

The Lammerskraal bred Brutal Force showed plenty of heart and courage when he picked up the seventh win of his career when landing a pinnacle stakes over 1200m at Kenilworth on Saturday.
Brutal Force, who was making his second appearance after a lengthy lay-off, did really well to come back to win, as he not only had to overcome a wind-op, but also suffered a near fatal bout of colic as well.

Owned by Mayfair Speculators, Brutal Force was bought back for a then record price of R4.5 million at the 2013 CTS Ready To Run Sale.
The big gelding is one of the top sprinters of his generation, with his top efforts including a win in the 2015 G2 Amtote Merchants, where Brutal Force accounted for such top class speedsters as Dollar Dazzler, Copper Parade and current sensation Trip To Heaven. He also finished a short head second in the 2016 G1 Betting World Cape Flying Championship when beaten only by Gulf Storm.

By the farm’s triple champion sire Western Winter, Brutal Force is out of Lammerskraal’s now deceased broodmare Nacarat, and is a full brother to G1 Mercury Sprint winner Red Ray, who is set to stand his first season at Klawervlei in 2016.

Kingvoldt, a close relation of Brutal Force, and also bred by Lammerskraal, also won impressively this past weekend. The son of Western Winter, and one of the best 2yos of his generation, Kingvoldt picked up his fifth career victory when downing G1 winner Afrikaburn over 1400m on Friday.

Lammerskraal also bred and own talented filly Redberry Lane, one of 16 fillies set to contest Saturday’s G2 Wilgerbosdrift Gauteng Fillies Guineas on Saturday.
