Lammerskraal Stud’s G1 winner and G1 sire Visionaire had a smart looking two-year-old winner at Scottsville on Wednesday.
His daughter Nikiya, who was bred by Verna Roberts, broke her maiden when winning over 1000m in open company.
Trained by Michael Roberts, and ridden to victory by Ashton Arries, Nikiya impressed with a 1.75 length at the third time of asking.
The filly is the fourth juvenile winner for Visionaire this season, with the son of Grand Slam also responsible for G2 Durban Golden Horseshoe entrant In Cahoots.
South Africa’s Leading First Crop Sire in 2014-2015, Visionaire has enjoyed another stellar season this year, with his star runners including G1 Wilgerbosdrift SA Fillies Classic/G2 Gauteng Fillies Guineas winner Takingthepeace and G2 WSB The Merchants winner The Thinker.
The former G1 King’s Bishop Stakes winner has eight lots on offer at next month’s KZN Yearling Sale.
