Full Mast gives Go Deputy 100% strike rate!

Lammerskraal’s successful G1 winning sire Go Deputy sports some impressive statistics, and he looks to have a singularly smart crop of three-year-olds this season.
One of Go Deputy’s most promising sophomores is the Mike Azzie trained Full Mast, and that Lammerskraal Stud bred gelding  romped to a facile 2.8 length win over 1400 at Turffontein on Saturday.

The consistent gelding, third to millionaire Will Pays in the G2 Hawaii Stakes earlier in the season, had been second to G2 Gauteng Guineas third Royal Crusade last time out and Full Mast looks a smart sort in the making.

Full Mast has now won or placed in nine of his 12 career outings and has already earned in excess of R300 000.

Full Mast, produced by the Western Winter mare Full Card, was Go Deputy’s only runner at Turffontein on Saturday –and provided his sire with a perfect strike rate of 100% winners to runners on the day.

Go Deputy, whose Triple Crown winning son Abashiri was recently retired from racing,  has just 12 officially registered three-year-olds representing him in 2017-2018, but they include recent G3 DStv Gold Vase runner up Flichity By Farr, the promising filly Insignis, East Cape Oaks winner Widow’s Lamp and the smart recent winner Northern Route.

The talented Flichity By Farr, also placed in both the G2 Wilgerbosdrift SA Oaks and G3 Track And Ball Oaks, has been entered in the G3 Elan Gold Cup at the end of the month

From the same family as breed shaping stallion Fappiano and this season’s exciting local 2yo Barahin, Go Deputy will be represented by two lots at next month’s National Two Year Old Sale. His 2YO Sale pair consists of a filly (Lot 154) from the family of G1 winners Nania, Red Ray, Rudra and Set Afire, and a colt (Lot 269) whose 12 winning siblings include G2 Camellia Stakes winner Chant De Nuit, the dam of G1 sprinter African Ruler.
