Lammerskraal Stud, responsible for last Saturday’s Listed Aquanaut Handicap winner Tambalang, look to have bred another really smart sort in the form of 2yo Green Haze.
The latter made a winning debut over 1000m at the Vaal on Tuesday, when scoring a 1.25 length win over the Australian bred favourite Belton Road.
The runner up had been entered for Listed Storm Bird Stakes, and appears to be held in high regard, which surely bodes well for Green Haze!
A son of Gimmethegreenlight, the Alec Laird trained Green Haze was a R350 000 buy from the 2017 National Yearling Sale.
He races for Messrs Gerber and Wernars.
Green Haze is out of Yard-Arm’s winning own sister Mizzen Mast, who will be represented by a Soft Falling Rain colt (by the name of Broadside) at the 2018 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale.
