The farm won the Outstanding Breeder Of The Year award, following a year which saw Lammerskraal Stud bred runners earn more than R12.416 million in stakes, and notch up no fewer than 12 black type wins.

Remarkably, Lammerskraal runners averaged an impressive R142 718 –well clear of log leaders Summerhill (R54 903) and Klawervlei Stud (R48 116).

The farm gained further glory at the Cape Awards ceremony when their Gr1 winning graduates Abashiri and Red Ray were named the Cape Breeders’ Stayer and Sprinter of the year respectively and both Abashiri and Red Ray have been nominated for Equus Award titles.

The numerous top class races won by Lammerskraal bred thoroughbreds last season included the G1 SA Classic, G1 Mercury Sprint, G1 SA Derby, G2 Gold Bracelet, G3 Umzimkhulu Stakes, and the G3 Cape Summer Stayers.

Resident sires Go Deputy and Visionaire also enjoyed excellent seasons, with Go Deputy’s top runners including the above mentioned Abashiri, as well as top class fillies Deputy Ryder and Flying Ice.

Visionaire, who will stand his first season at Lammerskraal in 2016, had a memorable year as well, with his first crop 3yos including G2 Fillies Guineas winner Heaps Of Fun, and he also has a number of promising 3yos set to represent him this season.
