Lammerskraal Stud’s resident sires Go Deputy and Visionaire both got in the winners box on Tuesday afternoon, thanks to their progeny Full Mast and Comme-Ci-Comme-Ca respectively.
Bred by Lammerskraal Stud, Full Mast was one of three winners on Tuesday’s Vaal card for the training combination of Mike and Adam Azzie. The three-year-old was given a superb ride from Weichong Marwing, who produced Full Mast with a large charge to win the 1400m handicap by 0.9 of a length –going away.
Out of the Western Winter mare Full Card (a sister in blood to Lammerskraal bred champion Capetown Noir), Full Mast has now won or placed in six of his eight outings, and was rated good enough to take his chance in both the G3 Graham Beck Stakes and Listed Sea Cottage Stakes.
The son of Go Deputy was a R500 000 buy from the 2016 National Yearling Sale.
In-form sire Visionaire was represented by his third winner in the last three days when daughter Comme-Ci-Comme-Ca dead-heated for first place in Tuesday’s eighth and final race.
Trained by Roy Magner, the classy filly showed great courage to get up and share victory with Mar Del Sur in a handicap over 1400m.
Bred by Summerhill Stud, Comme-Ci-Comme-Ca, second at her previous outing, has now four wins to her name, and has won or placed in 12 of her 21 outings.
