Lammerskraal Stud’s bang in-form resident stallion Visionaire is the sire of brilliant 3yo filly Takingthepeace.
The latter, bred by Summerhill Stud, is on the verge of making history having won the first two legs of the Wilgerbosdrift Triple Tiara.
Takingthepeace, an impressive winner of the recent G2 Wilgerbosdrift Gauteng Guineas, picked up the second leg of the Triple Tiara when coming from last to first to land the G1 Wilgerbosdrift SA Fillies Classic over 1800m at Turffontein on Saturday.
Trained by Mike de Kock, Takingthepeace was given a stunning ride from jockey Callan Murray, who dropped his mount out to last to overcome her poor draw of fourteen.
With 400m left to run, Murray had galvanized his filly into top-gear, with Takingthepeace flying up late to score a thrilling short-head win.
In the process, the filly, who was landing the first G1 race of her career, took her tally to five wins from just nine outings, with Takingthepeace having already banked over R1.4 million-with the promise of more to come!
Should she capture the G2 Wilgerbosdrift SA Oaks, Takingthepeace will join the likes of champions Igugu and Cherry On The Top as Triple Tiara winners.
Out of the Rambo Dancer mare Lisa Anne, Takingthepeace was a R280 000 buy from the 2016 CTS Johannesburg Ready To Run Sale.
Her G1 King’s Bishop Stakes winning sire Visionaire is enjoying a wonderful spell of success at the moment, and also enjoyed a notable double at Greyville on Friday night, when daughters Lovely Luca and We’re Watching You won races two and three respectively.
Sire of at least one graded winner in each of his first three South African crops to date (he has had Fillies Guineas winners in two of those three crops), Visionaire has a single lot on offer at this week’s April Yearling Sale.
The half-brother to rising US star Madison’s Luna has a high-quality draft on offer at the 2018 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale, where Visionaire will be represented by yearlings out of such high class race mares as Fisani, Little Miss Magic, Silver Nun and Aquitaine.
