Lammerskraal Stud’s bang in-form sire Visionaire made headlines yet again on Friday.
The G1 winning son of Grand Slam was represented by a pair of winners, with the Visionaire double including the winner of the second leg of the WSB East Cape Poly Challenge.
Breakfast Club, who was bred by Summerhill Stud, made it win number five when landing Friday’s WSB East Cape Poly Challenge (2nd leg of the Poly Challenge) for trainer Alan Greeff and jockey Greg Cheyne.
The five-year-old gelding clearly relishes the polytrack, having scored all of his victories over the surface.
His King’s Bishop Stakes winning sire Visionaire was also responsible for Final Chance, who broke his maiden over 1200m on the same card. The Tara Laing trained Final Chance, a 3yo gelded son of the Northern Guest mare Enroute To Heaven, was another bred by Summerhill.
Visionaire, who was South Africa’s Leading First Crop Sire in 2014-2015and Leading Second Crop Sire the following year, has been enjoying another magnificent season in 2017-2018.
The regally bred chestnut, whose half-brother Madison’s Luna, ranks as one of North America’s most exciting 3yos, has been represented by the likes of Takingthepeace (G1 SA Fillies Classic, G2 Gauteng Fillies Guineas) and The Thinker (G2 The Merchants) this season, as well as impressive debut winners Helios and In Cahoots.
Visionaire will be represented by 18 lots at next week’s Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale.
