Lammerskraal Stud’s successful sire Go Deputy enjoyed another good season in 2017-2018-despite only being represented by a handful of runners.
The former G1 Sword Dancer Invitational winner’s notable performers include the very smart performers Flichity By Farr, Full Mast, impressive winner Northern Route and Widow’s Lamp.
The latter, bred by Lammerskraal, is one of three fillies up for the East Cape racing award of Champion 3YO Filly for the past season.
Widow’s Lamp won five times during the past season, with her victories including the Listed East Cape Oaks. She was also second in the Listed East Cape Derby, beaten only by her talented male rival American Landing.
Out of the Western Winter mare Iditarod, the Yvette Bremner trained Widow’s Lamp has won five of 17 races and has banked more than R430 000 in stakes.
The East Cape Chapter RA Awards will take place at the HB Christian Room at Fairview on September 1st.
