Consumerconfidence, a close relative of Lammerskraal Stud’s successful sire Visionaire, picked up his third win when victorious at Turf Paradise on Tuesday.
Ridden to victory by Daniel Vergara, the entire did well to prevail in a driving finish after being bumped early on.
A son of Quality Road, Consumerconfidence stayed on to win the 1600m turf contest by a head.
He is out of the Not For Love mare Scarlet, a winning half-sister to Visionaire and fellow G1 winner Tara’s Tango.
The latter, now retired to stud, earned more than $800 000 during a career which saw Tara’s Tango win the G1 Santa Margarita Stakes, G2 Santa Maria Stakes and G3 Rancho Bernardo Handicap.
Consumerconfidence’s second dam is the outstanding broodmare Scarlet Tango, whose three graded stakes winners (by three different stallions) also include G3 Providencia Stakes winner Scarlet Strike.
Former G1 King’s Bishop Stakes winner Visionaire will be represented by four lots on this week’s Cape Premier Yearling Sale, including a filly out of a five time winning half-sister to Dubai G1 winner Special Fighter (Lot 205).
