Three in a row for Go Deputy filly

The Lammerskraal Stud bred Widow’s Lamp made it three wins on the bounce when she won at Fairview on Friday afternoon.
Trained by Yvette Bremner, and owned by Hedley McGrath and Anthony Williams, Widow’s Lamp made it win number four from just 11 outings when a convincing one length winner over 1800m on Friday.

The 3yo filly has been the soul of consistency, with Widow’s Lamp, runner up in the Listed East Cape Fillies Nursery last season, winning or placing in ten of her 11 starts thus far with her only unplaced run coming when sixth on debut.

A real bargain buy (she cost R50 000 from the 2016 CTS Ready To Run Sale Presented by Lanzerac Hotel & Spa), Widow’s Lamp has now banked nearly R250 000 in prize money.

Her sire Go Deputy, a G1 winning millionaire himself, is a well proven sire, with his top offspring including Triple Crown winner Abashiri, and the graded stakes winners Changingoftheguard, Flying Ice, Icy Trail, Pessoa and Royal Badge.
