Lammerskraal Stud’s beautifully bred mare Cantabella received yet another boost to her impeccable pedigree following the running of the G1 Nathan’s Famous Hotdogs Galaxy at Rosehill on Saturday.
Russian Revolution (by Snitzel) made it five wins from just six outings when victorious in Saturday’s 1100m race–despite sweating up badly before the start.
He also stamped himself as a valuable stud prospect with his head victory in The Galaxy, having previously won both the G2 Roman Consul Stakes and G3 Vain Stakes. Russian Revolution’s maiden G1 victory pushed his earnings to over AUS$770 000.
Russian Revolution is a direct descendant of champion racemare Fanfreluche, and is from the same family as top class sires Night Shift, Flying Spur, and Encosta De Lago.
Fanfreluche is also second dam of champion and successful sire Holy Roman Emperor, whose own sister Milanova is dam of Lammerskraal’s blue blooded mare Cantabella (by Galileo).
A R3 100 000 buy from last year’s Mare & Fillies For Stud Select Sale, Cantabella is a full-sister to G3 winner Pretty Perfect.
