Lammerskraal Stud made headlines at Saturday’s CTS Ready To Run Sale Presented by Lanzerac Hotel & Spa when they consigned the sales’ joint top priced lot.
Lot 59, a colt by multiple Equus Champion What A Winter (by Lammerskraal’s late, great sire Western Winter) was knocked down to Rainbow Beach Trading for R900 000.

The regally bred bay, who has been named Warrior’s Reward, is out of Badger Land’s G3 Jacaranda Handicap winning daughter Bardot, whose five winners include G1 Woolavington 2000 heroine Viva Maria and the now retired G2 Camellia Stakes winner Bichette. The latter is a daughter of What A Winter’s own sire, Western Winter, making Warrior’s Reward a three parts brother to that top class filly.

Lammerskraal enjoyed a good sale, and ended the Ready To Run Sale as the fourth leading vendors –with their nine lots grossing R2.325 million.
